The Affordable Fear-Mongering Act

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was upheld by the Supreme Court. Republicans are not the smiley happy bumble bees they usually are.

As Andy Borowitz puts it, “Congress passed the law, the President signed it, and the Supreme Court upheld it. So it must be repealed.” – Republican logic

Here are my quick thoughts. Enjoy...

The Massachusetts Health Care Plan that Romney passed in 2006...

1. Has a mandate

2. Covers 98% - the highest rate of coverage in the nation.

3. Covers almost 100% of children

4. 90% of Massachusetts doctors say the quality of care has improved since the reform

5. Massachusetts likes it

If the Supreme Court deemed Obamacare unconstitutional, would Massachusetts have been forced to give all this up since it is virtually the same plan (The only major difference being that in Massachusetts, if you did not purchase health care, you were actually penalized $219 in the form of losing a tax exemption and with Obamacare you would be penalized $100 but if you don't pay it, there is no penalty - so, there is no penalty in Obamacare.)?

What are some of the things we get with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)?

1. Insurance companies can no longer impose a lifetime limit to how much care you can receive

2. Insurance companies can no longer discriminate against children with pre-existing conditions

3. Insurance companies can no longer drop your coverage if you get sick

4. Insurance companies can no longer jack up your premiums without any reason

5. Insurance companies are required to provide free preventive care such as check-ups and mammograms - a provision that has already helped 54 million Americans with private insurance

6. By this August, almost 13 million people will receive a rebate from their insurance company because it spent too much money on administrative costs and CEO bonuses and not enough on your actual health care

7. You will be able to stay on your parents' insurance until your 26th birthday, easing the search for affordable coverage during those early career-discovering years when you have no employer-based coverage

8. Seniors receive a discount on prescription drugs - 5 million seniors on Medicare have already saved approximately $600 each

Sad news for Republicans who do not want people to be able to afford health care and are using fear-mongering lies to scare people into hating Obamacare: Hitler didn't give universal health care to Germany - stop fucking comparing the act of helping people with Hitler - I don't know how you keep confusing the actions of Jesus with Hitler, you fucking dickholes; Taxes will not be increased; Insurance prices will not go up; People will not be forced to give up their insurance - I mean seriously, how can you claim Obamacare does the opposite of everything Obamacare actually does - are you that fucking stupid, or goddamn liars bent on fucking the middle class in favor of the rich - oh, right. Never mind.

What will increase the deficit by $230 Billion over 10 years? Repealing Obamacare. But that's not stopping Republicans from trying. I think my favoritest favoritey favorite part of this whole thing is what Romney says he will replace Obamacare with after he repeals it on day one (along with the 437 other things he says he's going to do on day one - busiest fucker in the world that he is)...

1. Make sure that people who want to keep their current insurance will be able to

2. Help each state assure that every American has access to affordable health care

3. Make sure people with pre-existing conditions will be insured

Yes. You are reading that right. Mitt-bot 3000 stepped up to a microphone and with the stiff emotionless expression of a tin foil robot from a 1950's atomic age drive-in movie announced to the press that he will repeal Obamacare and replace it with

Obamacare.

Good day.
