Deception Accomplished

We recently had the ten-year anniversary (March 19, 2003) of being lied into illegally invading and occupying the sovereign nation of Iraq. This invasion occurred for no reason we can yet discern, which resulted in more American deaths than all the terrorist attacks on America combined. We now know (well, some of us always knew) that Bush never went after Osama bin Laden, for the purpose of keeping the fear-drums beating for more war, as Republicans do.

“Hey, bin Laden’s still loosie-goosie, we gotta invade Iraq, cuz nukuler weapons! Freedom! ‘Merica!” – Georgie W.

Here’s a short conversation I had after the successful mission to kill Osama bin Laden, approved by President Obama, was announced. Then some related material afterward.

Enjoy…

HA!

lol funny thing is this operation has been in the works for 4 years so the bush administration needs their credit as well.... either way the demon is dead

Papi
Ditto on the above.

Bill Mancuso
Partially true. The strategy of going into Pakistan to kill Bin Laden was a part of Obama’s Presidential campaign in 2007. So, yes on the 4 years - no on it having anything to do with the Bush administration.

Le Pew
campaign ideas cant get operations started... only people in office can... so as its been stated a million times already today this mission has been in operation for 4 years meaning it was started under the bush administration... meaning obama just took over what bush started [I wonder where it's been stated a million times that Bush should get the credit?]

Bill Mancuso
Bush never once sent American troops after bin Laden - he always sent Afghan Tribal leaders and their rebel soldiers after bin Laden. Bush only used bin Laden as an excuse/jumping-off point to go after Saddam Hussein for reasons we still to this day don't know. The fact about facts is that it doesn't matter if you believe facts or not because they're still facts.

Le Pew
exactly facts are facts and if this operation started 4 years ago it started under the bush administration so just credit where its due... any does it realy matter... the end result is the same WE SMOKED HIM OUT [As soon as someone pulls out the old “does it really matter” chestnut, you know they know they’re wrong, but won’t admit it. If the op failed miserably, would these douches still try to give Bush credit?]

Bill Mancuso
This operation did not start 4 years ago. It started in September - 7 months ago. It was Obama's idea 4 years ago to go after bin Laden in Pakistan. Please stop pretending you think it doesn't matter who started it while simultaneously and vigorously trying to attribute this operation to Bush.

Le Pew
put on fox news man... its all they been talking about ... [Oh. That's where they said it a million times. Never woulda guessed.] and i know its fox buteitherway that or msnbc they are bias one way or the other so the truth is some where in the middle and i like to believe what i like to believe is right... we will never know... and the end result is the same osama is dead and its a great day to be an american

Liz
Woah, woah, woah, woah, did you just say "put on fox news."? Of course all they would be talking about is how to give Bush credit, it's Fox News!! Was that even a serious statement? [Sadly, yes.]

Bill Mancuso
You lost me at "put on fox news." And to quote myself, "The fact about facts is that it doesn't matter if you believe facts or not because they're still facts." You reinforce that by stating that you ‘like to believe what you like to believe.’ The thing is, we DO know, because of the facts, but you will still only believe the prejudiced, biased ideas you wish to believe in, regardless of facts.

And it was a great day to be an American yesterday, too. However, I wish we captured bin Laden alive so we could use him for medical testing and save some rabbits and monkeys.

Maureen
Did someone really say, "put on fox news" to legitimize an argument?

Clu
Lol.
Fox News.
