Mitt Romney is a Threat to America

"Oh, c'mon. You're being a bit melodramatic now, aren't you?"

No. I'm probably understating the fact if anything.

Mitt Romney was trained as a business man to lie to get what he wants. He's been doing it basically his whole life. This is evident in the frequency and ease with which he blatantly lies to get what he wants, depending on his political needs of the moment. He seems to lie vastly more frequently than the average politician. Lying comes so naturally to him, he lies about things he doesn't even need to lie about. And since the human race is beneath him, he doesn't care when he's caught lying. He just says 'I never said that' knowing full well his lies are all documented on film. He knows people are stupid and won't fact-check, but are there enough stupid people to support him?

Some of his lies:

*First, he said, "I support a woman's right to choose." Then, he said, "Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that." He also told Mike Huckabee that he would sign a personhood amendment - which is the opposite of choice. Huckabee, "Would you have supported the Constitutional Amendment that would have established the definition of life at conception?" Romney, "Absolutely."

*First, he said, "I don't line up with the NRA." Then, he said, "I am a lifetime NRA member." The truth is, he bought a 'Lifetime Membership' to the NRA for $1,000 just before the 2008 election so he would appear more conservative. Prior to that, he often opposed bills supported by the NRA. Words and context have meaning.

*He says, repeatedly, on tape, "When [Obama] took office, the economy was in recession, and he made it worse." The truth is, almost immediately after Obama signed the Recovery Act, the economy stopped plunging and leveled off. It has been, albeit slowly, getting better since. At least according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. I've posted a graph explaining this in a previous post. At a press conference, an NBC reporter asked him, "How can you continue to say that things are worse when they really aren't worse?" His reply: "I didn't say that things are worse." Yup, ya did. Ya lied, then ya lied about your lie. It's on tape.

*For no apparent reason, in a recent debate he said, "...I was trying to get the state in the best possible shape as I could, left the world of politics and went back into business..." That was a lie. After he ended his term as Massachusetts Governor in January 2007, he launched his Presidential campaign. In February. He still, at this very moment 5 years later, has never gone back into business. Remember his insulting joke to unemployed people that he, too, is unemployed? Here's the thing: Why did he lie that he went back into business? It served no purpose. He's just a compulsory liar.

*In Ohio during this 2012 campaign, he said about health care, "Early on we were asked, is what you've done in Massachusetts something you'd have the entire government do, the federal government do? I said no. From the very beginning, no. This is designed for our state and our circumstance." Lie. Romney used to say all the time the country should adopt his Massachusetts health care model. Specifically the 'individual mandate' that he now hates. In an op-ed he wrote for USA Today, his headline was "Mr. President, what's the rush? Obama could learn a thing or two about health care reform from Massachusetts. One, time is not the enemy. Two, neither are the Republicans." Did he forget he wrote that, or just doesn't care?

*In a recent Republican primary debate, "While we've got 15 trillion in debt, [Obama] said, look, I'm going to put on another trillion of debt for Obamacare..." Lie. Every independent analysis, including several from the bipartisan CBO, shows Obama's health care reform bill will actually cut the deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars.

*Recently, on the campaign trail, "[Obama] said he'd cut the deficit in half. He's doubled it. He's doubled it." Lie. When Obama took office, the deficit was $1.3 trillion. Last year, it was $1.29 trillion. This year, it's headed for $1.1 trillion. To me, the deficit seems to be going down and not being 'doubled', but then, I don't understand Republican Math.

*Romney said Obama cut Medicare benefits. Lie. Obamacare cuts overpayment to insurance companies. Romney's plan cuts benefits to recipients and hands them out to insurance companies.

*Romney said the Obama administration raised corporate tax rates. Lie. They have reached their lowest levels in 60 years during the Obama administration.

*Romney said Obama has not signed any trade deals. South Korea, Columbia and Panama would like to disagree with him.

*Romney said Americans are the only ones who put their hand over their hearts during the national anthem. Almost all the rest of the countries in the world would like to ask you why you would make up that crazy lie. What is its purpose? To somehow prove America is the mosty most mostest patriotic-est country ever? Jackass.

*Willard Mitt Romney said to moderator, Wolf Blitzer, at a Republican debate, "I'm Mitt Romney, and yes, Wolf, that's also my first name." A small, needless, useless lie. Why? Seriously. Why?

*On why he lost the South Carolina primary: "You know, in South Carolina we were vastly outspent with negative ads attacking me." Lie. His campaign spent double Gingrich's.

*Romney continuously states he is a "job creator." That he created 10,000 or 100,000 or 120,000 jobs while working at Bain Capital. Pick a number, Mitt. Anyway, he only references the successes of Staples, Sports Authority, Steel Dynamics and Domino's Pizza. Two things: 1.) He ignores the much larger multitude of companies that his company, Bain Capital destroyed along with all the jobs by pumping and dumping them. (Which Bain bought by borrowing most of the money from the government at no risk to themselves. My taxes at work.) 2.) These successful companies (coincidentally?) had little investment by Bain. Staples, for example, only received 10% of its start-up money from Bain.

*Romney is constantly saying Obama is going around the world and apologizing for America. Lie. He never has. But if you repeat a lie enough times, stupid people will believe it.

*Romney keeps claiming Obama has no jobs plan. Lie. Here is a link to the full text of The American Jobs Act. Which Republicans filibustered.

*Romney repeats often, "This President went before the United Nations and castigated Israel for building settlements. He said nothing about thousands of rockets being reigned in on Israel from the Gaza Strip." Lie. (And incorrect usage of the term 'reign in.' He probably meant "rockets raining down on.") Obama has mentioned rocket attacks from Gaza every single time he has addressed the U.N. In Obama's very first address to the U.N., which is what Romney has been referring to for years, he said, "We must remember that the greatest price of this conflict is not paid by us. It's not paid by politicians. It's paid by the Israeli girl in Sderot who closes her eyes in fear that a rocket will take her life in the middle of the night."

*Everything in this Gingrich attack ad is true. Thanks, Newt, you piece of shit!

*Mitt pays about 14% in Federal taxes. He says, "Hey, I can't do anything about it. That's how the law is written." Fun fact: In 2007, there was a Senate proposal to eliminate this ludicrous tax break for the ultra-wealthy. The proposal was killed by a lobby group started by Bain Capital, Mitt's old company. Jon Stewart explains in detail:

*Romney says Obama wants to cut $1 trillion from the defense budget. Lie. Obama wants to cut $450 billion over 10 years - 8% of the Pentagon's budget. That number was agreed upon by both Parties.

*Romney keeps saying that Obama wants to "transform America" into a "European welfare state" where "the government's job is to take from some and give to others." Lie. Under Obama, tax rates have dropped to the lowest since the Truman administration. You can't lower taxes and be increasingly 'transformed' into a welfare state. Those are contrary positions. I guess Romney believes since he holds seven contradictory ideals at the same time, everyone does.

*Romney keeps saying that Obama "thinks the best way to get health care costs down is to have the federal government take it over" and run it like "Amtrak and the Post Office" that mirrors "a European approach in which the government owns the hospitals and the doctors are public employees." Lie. The plan Obama put in place relies on the (oh-so-beloved by Republicans) free market to set up exchanges so private insurers can compete to provide coverage to people. In other words, a capitalism-based health care system. It fucking pisses me off that it's a capitalism-based system, but Romney's lying.

*Thanks, Ron Paul, you crazy old bridge troll!

*In a speech on the campaign trail in New Hampshire, Romney said Europe has more poverty than the United States, which is caused by European welfare programs. Lie. Immediately after the speech, when journalist David Corn asked him if he really believed there was more poverty in Europe than the U.S., Romney said he never said that. He said he was talking about Cuba, North Korea and former Soviet Union - which he never mentioned in his speech. So, Romney lied, he knew he was lying and he lied about lying to cover up the lie. David Corn's article is quite interesting: Did Mitt Romney Lie to Me?

*You know what? Fuck making this list. I haven't even scratched the surface. In eight weeks, I'd still be writing it. Willard Mitt Romney is the most lying politician in the history of Mother Earth. Put "Romney lies" in Google. The results are endless.

One last thing...

Romney hired an openly gay man, Richard Grenell, as his foreign policy spokesman. An obvious attempt to get the LGBT vote. Problem: Republicans hate gay people. This fact was backed up when two weeks later, Grenell was forced to resign due to immense pressure from right-wing extremist anti-gay groups.

Here's Romney's problem: he didn't say one word in defense of Grenell against these conservative, hate-mongering fucktards. If he can't defend one man, who was his own choice for the job, against anti-gay scumbags within his own party, he certainly won't stand up to any other demand from the far right-wing extremists. He'll be the perfect spineless President who will sign anything that's demanded of him by militant extremists. He's Grover Norquist's wet dream - nothing but a hollow puppet that he can control.

I believe Mitt Romney is only out for himself. He sees people only as a means for his own end. He likes firing people. He doesn't care to help poor people. He uses and discards people like he does with corporations. I don't believe Romney is anti-gay or racist or any other 'anti.' I just believe he doesn't think any more or less about any certain group than he does any other individual person: they're all just a means to his own end. He hired Grenell for gay votes and when that went sour, he let him go without a word to regain right-wing extremist votes. He will say and do anything to anyone for his own benefit. He has no scruples. No morals. No values. No sympathy. No empathy. Only apathy.

He lies so easily and without compunction, I believe he is a sociopath. He fits MANY of the qualifications.

Mitt Romney is a fake, spineless liar who wishes to please everybody to get what his sociopathic mind wants, which results in pleasing nobody except the gullible and stupid.

And those are severely dangerous qualities to have in a leader.

Mitt Romney is a threat to America.

Good day.
